Playgrounds

By: Svatava

Do you know what to do on a nice sunny day? One of the choices is to go on a playground. Don’t know where there’s a playground? Your hotel, inn or motel might own a playground. Here are some others.

One of them is Park Street Playground. It’s a playground on Park St. right next to the YMCA. It’s a small playground with swings, trees, and more. It is a playground perfect for little kids and babies.

Another is Town Hill Playground. Town Hill Playground is a playground in Town Hill. It’s on the same street there is an ice cream shop. Town Hill Playground is a giant playground good for all ages.

Those are the most important playgrounds on MDI. I hope you will have a wonderful time on these playgrounds.

Addresses:

Park St. Playground: Park Street, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609

Town Hill Playground: Main Street, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609

Diver Ed

By: Lilly

Hi! Today I will be talking about Diver Ed!! Diver Ed is a man who dives down into the ocean and he brings up animals for guests to look at. It is so fun!!

On Diver Ed you get to see REAL life ANIMALS!! For example, sea stars, sea cucumbers, and lobster.

My second reason is that Ed the Diver brings Mini Ed in the ocean...Mini Ed is a little toy so Diver Ed doesn’t get scared.

Last but not least, you have to to to the C.O.A. in Bar Harbor to get on the boat.

WARNING: They have dogs on the boat- hope you’re not allergic!!

Pirate’s Cove

By: Kadyn

If you’re looking for a family place you found it. It is Pirate’s Cove Mini Golf Adventure. It’s a good family place you can go and golf. And you can pick a colored golf ball and different sized golf club.

When you’re done you get to pick a course- Black Beard’s Challenge or Original. Each has 18 holes. If your ball goes off course you can get another one. When you’re done 18 you can spin the wheel and get a prize: tattoos, eye patch, pirate hat, or a pirate token.

So that’s why I think you should go to Pirate’s Cove.

YMCA Pool

By: Calvin

The YMCA pool is the best place to swim! The first reason is the water, it is the perfect temperature. The shallowest is 4 feet deep and the deepest is 12 feet. The YMCA also has a diving board and diving plates.

Another reason it is an awesome place to swim- you can do cannonballs, dives, flips or any jump you can think of, even belly flops.

The Y has pool toys like rubber duckies, diving rings, noodles, flippers, floating balls and kick boards.

They also have showers and changing rooms.

That is why the YMCA pool is the best place to swim. The address information for the Mount Desert Island YMCA is 21 Park Street Bar Harbor, ME 04609.

Town Hill Playground

By: Lucian

The Town Hill Playground is a cool playground in my opinion! It has slides, things to swing on, a baseball field, climbing items, and things to hide behind.

The baseball field, sometimes in the spring, has a real game happening. But any other time of the year the field is open to use. Some games you can play on the field is baseball, kickball and tag! The field has it’s own bases so you don’t have to use sticks or rocks.

There is a section of equipment that is made for toddlers and kids younger than 7, but older kids can play there too.

You should go to the Town Hill Playground if you find yourself in Bar Harbor, Maine!

Island Explorer

By: Calvin

Hello. The Island Explorer is the best way to travel!!!

My first reason that the Island Explorer is the best way to travel is because the seas are really comfortable, they are fluffier than pillows. This makes riding along and enjoying the views very nice.

Secondly, the Island Explorer bus goes all over Mount Desert Island, also known as MDI. It goes to all the campgrounds on the island. It will take you to the Park Loop Road.

Another great thing about the Island Explorer is that you don’t have to pay. It’s free!

Allowing dogs is very important, thanks for allowing dogs on the Island Explorer. Jjust make sure they are on a leash!

This is why the Island Explorer is the best way to travel!!!

Town Hill Playground

By: Calvin and Richard

Do you want to go to a playground that is great for younger kids and older kids? Then there is a playground for you!

The Town Hill playground has a field for playing games like t-ball, baseball, soccer, kickball, tag and any game you can think of.

The playground has an area for little kids with equipment that is perfect for little kids. There are slides and swings and a small climbing structure. There is also an area that is perfect for big kids. It has two climbing structures, four slides, and a big climbing wall. There are monkey bars, a sliding bar and swings that are even big enough for grown ups. There is one red additional climbing structure that if you climb to the top, you can see Cadillac Mountain, which is really cool!

There are also little houses that are great for make believe games like the “three little pigs.” The little houses have three windows and one doorway. These are fun for big and little kids.

If you visit the Town Hill playground you will find lots of fun kids to play with, you might even see me! You might see me playing “ship” with my little sister.

If you get hot, you can walk to the Town Hill Market for an ice cream cone!

The playground is very close to town! It is located at Town Hill Playground, Main St. Bar Harbor, ME 04609
