Acadia Inn Hotel

The General Manager of the Acadia Inn came in and talked to our class. Her name is Bethany Reece. If you go to her Inn you would find out how nice she is. Here are some questions we asked her.

Acadia Inn Questions and Answers:

Q. Is your hotel kid friendly?

A. It is very kid friendly.

Q. Is there a playground at your hotel?

A. Yes, in the backyard. Swing set, slide, and monkey bars.

Q. Are you pet friendly?

A. No.

Q. Do you have a pool or a hot tub?

A. Both.

Q. What activities do you have for kids on rainy days?

A. Coloring in the breakfast area, simple crafts, board games: Candy Land and Head Bands.

Q. Do you have a vending machine?

A. Yes, we have two, one for candy/food and one for soda/water.

Q. Do you have T.V.s?

A. Yes.

Q. Do you have WiFi?

A. Yes

Q. How many kids stay per year at your hotel?

A. In 2015, 1,200 kids under the age of 12.

Q. What’s the most popular thing on the playgrond?

A. The swings.

Q. Do you have fish tanks?

A. No

Bar Harbor Inn

Bar Harbor Inn is a good place to stay because they are rated four and a half stars. They are number nine out of the ten best places to stay in Bar Harbor, Maine. Third, they have good food. I know that because my dad got married there. Lastly, you have to stay there because you will love it.

The Saltair Inn

The Saltair Inn is one of the many Inns in Bar Harbor, Maine but, it is one of the BEST!

My first reason it’s the best inn ever is that the ocean is right behind the Inn and there are chairs there too. So you can watch the waves in a love seat. So that is my first reason why the Saltair Inn is the best inn ever in Bar Harbor, ME.

Another reason is that when you turn left and then right on Main Street there are a LOT of shops there, and, I hear there is an ice cream place there too, so you can go ice cream shopping with your kids!

My final reason is (of course) THE ROOMS ARE AWESOME! First of all the beds are SO comfy, it’s like you’re sleeping on a cloud and every room has a TV and a fan.

So now do you agree that the best inn is the Saltair Inn? If you do, you should go there now!

Saltair Inn Questions and Answers

Kristi and Matt Losquadro, owners of the Saltair Inn, came into our classroom and answered our questions about their inn.

Q. What activities do you have for kids on rainy days?

1. Rainy days are tough--everyone wants to be outside. Some museums are in town to visit..The Abbe Museum and the Natural History Museum at the COA, and there’s the Criterion. They can also play board games, watch movies, or hang out in the house.

Q. Do you have bathrooms/showers for each room?

1. Everyone has their own bathroom in their rooms. You don’t have to share.

Q. Do you have WiFi?

1. Yes, free for all our guests.

Q. Do you have t.v.’s?

1. All the rooms have t.v.s- one room has two.

Q. Do you have desks/computers in the rooms?

1. We have our own computer. We can share with the guests if they really need it. No desks in the rooms.

Q. Do you have a pool?

1. No, but there are rooms with nice bathtubs.

Q. What is your hotel?

1. The Saltair Inn (bed and breakfast). People who come sleep in their own room then we make them breakfast at the tables.

Q. Are you kid friendly?

1. We like kids a lot. Most of our guests are couples. We are friendly to kids.

Q. Where is your inn located?

1. West Street.

Q. Are you pet friendly?

1. No pets allowed, but we have two dogs that live at the inn. We allow service dogs.

Q. Do you have electronics?

1. T.v.s and DVD players in each room.

Q. What kind of food do you have?

1. Breakfast- blueberry muffins, scones, pancakes, waffles, and egg dishes. We have lots of menus to help guests decide where to eat lunch and dinner. We try to help make good choices.

Q. Do  you have drinks?

1. Water, soda, coffee, tea, and juice.

Q. What board games do you have?

1. Scrabble, Backgammon, Chess, Trivia, and puzzles.

Q. Do you have activities for kids?

1. Not a lot- we have a beach for kids to go on at low tide to hunt for sea glass, skip rocks, and walk to the sand bar.

Q. Do you have a big lawn?

1. Yes, huge.

Q. Can you bring frisbees/footballs?

1. Yes, some guests play with frisbees and footballs.

Quimby House Inn

Have you ever been to the Quimby House Inn? If the answer is no, you might want to listen to this. They have twenty-two rooms, five of which are dog friendly. They’re on of the only places on the island that’s open year round. They have two buildings, one is for dogs. The owners live downstairs with their two daughters that sometimes help with the rooms. They have a spa that does massages, spray tans, scrubs, and a sauna. They are about a two minute walk to the best breakfast place on the island, Two Cats. It has been number one as long as they were there (that’s ten years). They’re also walking distance to most of the shops and restaurants. They have their own website (QuimbyHouseInn.com).  So go rate them after you stay. So go try out the Quimby House Inn, you won’t regret it.

P.S. They only take dogs, not anything else (for animals).

Campgrounds

Do you have a camper? Do you need a place to park it? Well don’t worry, we are here to tell you about all the places you can park it.

There are some great places to stay like Bar Harbor Campground, Hadley Point, KOA, Narrows, Blackwoods, Seawall, Mount Desert Campground, Somes Sound, Smuggler’s Den, and Bass Harbor Campground you can stay at! And these are only listing some of our favorite places to camp!

My name is Calie and I am going to talk to you about a campground called Seawall. The first reason you should go there is because when you wake up you hear the waves crashing. You can also have a campfire. That is why you should go to Seawall Campground.

One more place you can stay is...Bar Harbor Campground. They have great service and you can bring your dogs or cats!! They have a great pool that is warm.

P.S. You can make a reservation.

And that is why we think you should go to all of these places!

P.S. You do not need to have a camper for some of these places. You can also have tents that are fun too!!

Castlemaine Inn

Castlemaine Inn is a good place for breakfast, sleeping, and working. They cook mouth watering bacon, yum! You can try different food and you can eat inside or outside seating. They also have yummy eggs and pancakes. You can also get water, orange juice, or milk. They have very good bedding, you would sleep for 24 hours!
