MDI History Scavenger Hunt
Hey, are you bored? Try the MDI history scavenger hunt! The map below will be your guide. We will help, too. First we learned about places that were interesting for kids and fun for them to play at. Next, we researched people, places and events and wrote information paragraphs to teach you about MDI. Then, we made fun riddles for you! You have to solve the riddles- you solve the cases to get to the places. Finally, you too will be a MDI history expert! Good luck, MDI history detectives!

1. It's on Mount Desert Street.
It's full of books.
It has Jesup in it's name.

I am made of stone.
I have three arches.
Water rushes under me.
I am named after something that goes, “Quack, quack.”
I was finished being built in 1953.
3. It is loud at middle tide and low at low tide. Sometimes there is a big line of people. You will find it on the Ocean Path. You better pick the right tide to go or it might not be that loud.
4.The fire started on this road.The road is not straight. Today a stone barn stands at the intersection of this road with Norway Drive.
5. A place the Wabanaki called Wawonok where eggs were found and gathered.
6. I teach all day but not all night. I start my day at 8 a.m. I end my day at 3 p.m., but I go home for lunch.
Who am I and where can you learn more about me?
7. You go to the lake,on the side of the mountain. There are animals. There are not always eagles,but there are mammals.
8. What is tall and big and beautiful? There used to be a train that rode up me. I am the first place to see the sunrise in the United States.
9. I am on Ocean Path near Otter Cliffs. I am made out of metal. And I have the name “Rockefeller” on me.
10. I am behind Sieur de Mont spring. I am walkable. I am made of gravel. I am straight, twisty and turny.
11. Vroom, vroom, vroom. People all fought over us. We are in a place that's name begins with seal.
